Can drawing our stories help us to heal?

Cassy is a comics creator exploring visual narratives as graphic medicine.

As an art teacher, a librarian, and an artist, she has spent her life at the intersection of art, books, and education. She is currently working on her MFA in Comics at California College of the Arts to bring these passions together in the next stage of her career, in comics librarianship, visual narrative workshops, and creating her own graphic novel memoir about healing from intergenerational trauma.

Her work has appeared in publications such as The Comics Journal, Mutha Magazine, and School Library Journal.

She hopes to create work and foster spaces that inspire others to break free of what holds them back in order to move forward in brave creative new ways.
